Winning a storage unit auction is only the first step. You then have to go through the items inside and take it with you.
Considering the numerous cases of theft in storage units, it’s only right you know where to store the auctioned items you have.
Below are some of the places you can feel more secure once you’ve chosen your winning items from the unit.
1. Put it in your store.
A lot of bidders who go to storage unit auctions are store owners. They hunt items that they can refurbish and then resell to their customers at a better price.
Your store is one of the best places you can put the chosen items you won in an auction. Just make sure you collect the most valuable ones and make room for them so that your customers will see the new arrivals.
2. Rent a warehouse space.
It’s a lot safer to rent a warehouse space than leave your items in a storage unit. If you still don’t know what to do with them or if they won’t fit in your store, a warehouse space would allow you a bigger space.
Just make sure you find one that’s both safe and affordable. Ask anyone you know if s/he knows somebody so you can save up a few bucks. Try to research online as well but be very careful. The last thing you want is to have thieves lurking when you’re not looking.

3. Place them in your home/garage.
If everything else fails and you’re a bit tight with the budget, you can always store your winnings at home or in your garage. It probably is the safest place out of the three. You just have to make sure that they are stored properly.
If you’re about to bring home big equipment, make sure they’re far from causing danger.
